Live from Philly: Day Two of RIMS 2017

The second full day at RIMS 2017 was full of educational sessions, productive meetings and lots of fun on the exhibit hall floor at the Philadelphia Convention Center.

Tuesday morning began with a breakfast that honored RIMS 2017 Risk Manager of the Year winner Loren Nickel, director of business risk and insurance at Google and RIMS Risk Management Honor Roll inductees Benjamin Evans, executive director, Office of Risk Management and Insurance at the University of Pennsylvania; Juliana J. Keaton, director of insurance at CSX Transportation, Inc.; and Scot Schwarting, director of risk management at Whirlpool Corporation.
Throughout the day visitors attended educational sessions including “Two Worlds Joined: Risk and Compliance,” a top session of the day, according to RIMS. Jennifer Santiago of Novartis and Lance Ewing of Cotton Holdings provided attendees with a breakdown of the similarities and differences between the roles of compliance professional and risk manager.
